Stir Up Sunday

Yesterday was 'Stir Up Sunday'. Traditionally this is the day a Christmas plum pudding is prepared and as the name implies, the custom involves stirring; with family and friends taking a turn to stir the mixture whilst making a wish.

The pudding mixture is stirred from East to West to honour the journey made by the three wise men and there are thirteen ingredients - each ingredient representing Christ and his disciples.

We think we have perfected our St Paul's Plum Pudding recipe and hope you will agree! Available from the Cafe at St Paul's from tomorrow, along with our homemade mincemeat and other Christmas treats.
